July 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Event Navigation

Practiced for thousands of years, it’s not about forcing the mind to be quiet. Instead, it is about finding the silence that is already there and making it a part of your life.
–
Are you ready to step aside from the busyness of your life and embrace a few moments stillness and harmony?
–
Studies show that a consistent meditation practice can help:
- Manage stress
- Reduce anxiety
- Release self-judgment
- Create inner peace
- Improve sleep quality
- Lower blood pressure
- Increase self-awareness
- Improve memory, clarity & focus
–
When we silence the mind, we begin to see our lives more clearly.
No previous meditation experience is required. All levels are welcome!
Class will be lead by Terry Mares
Terry Mares has followed a daily, dedicated meditation practice since March 2016. He came to mindfulness in an effort to lessen the effects of anger, frustration, and anxiety, which he thought were becoming out of control. Since he established his practice, he has learned to respond as opposed to react. That has resulted in not only making him calmer and patient, but also more focused. Terry is very passionate about sharing meditation and mindfulness as a way to reduce stress and create a more balanced life. Besides mindfulness, Terry loves a wide variety of music, gardening, and he is a proud Chicago sports fan.
