When we explore the Law of Intention and Desire, we acknowledge the need to cultivate whatever it is that we wish for in our lives. It is always important to remember the significance of accepting the present for what it is and intending the future to become what you wish it to be – what you desire it to be.
There are times in our lives when we cannot imagine moving forward. There are times when life hurts so deeply that the pain itself becomes our comfort. In order to grow and manifest of future, we need to reach inside and pull ourselves past stagnation and begin to start walking towards a place that will serve us; one that will allow us to step into a new chapter in our life that longs to be written.
Often, our lack of happiness and fulfillment is due to our inability to see what it is that we are trying to achieve in order to live the life we deserve. It is therefore extremely relevant that we clear away the confusion in order to become aware of what it is that we truly want in our life, from where we are standing at this very moment in time.
The Beauty of Present Moment Awareness
We clear away this confusion when we sit and meditate; this is our most effective tool. In a world, full of distractions, with a heart carrying a lifetime of emotions and a mind filled with memories, judgments and endless to-do lists ~ it is often hard to kick through the turbulence and see our lives more clearly.
Tapping into this silent awareness during meditation and asking the question, “What do I really, really want?”, will enable you to clarify your path by allowing you to embrace & explore your deepest desires- the ones that define you, the ones that will drive your life forward. When you step away from the noise, you find the sanctuary you need and can then begin to manifest a path that will nurture you and allow you to live the life you deserve.
As our life unfolds, every moment is woven into the fabric of who we are, but the design is not dictated; it is re-created with each breath that we take. Our past is our history, the fabric of our being, but it changes with each moment and with each experience, it is redefined. Too often, we allow our deep-rooted belief of who we are to define who we are and when we allow that to happen, we lock ourselves into a portrait of ourselves – captured and locked in time.
The fabric of our life’s happiness is woven into our present moment awareness and the design is dictated by our intentions and our desires. The future is free to be whatever we wish it to be, but it does not exist until we tell it to…until we begin to chart our course.
The present is where we plant the seeds for our tomorrows. Your intentions, driven by your desires will create your path.
Practicing The Law of Intention & Desire:
Step One: Meditation
Sit down, close your eyes and follow your breath slowly. Inhaling and exhaling through your nostrils. You can softly think the words, “I am breathing in” and then “I am breathing out”. After a few breaths, pause for a moment in that space where your breath turns around from the inhale to an exhale; the space where it is neither an inhale or an exhale. Allow your breath to flow freely, simply acknowledging the space in between the inhale and the exhale.
After a few minutes, release any attention that you have on your breath.
Place one hand on your heart and one on your solar plexus, the area below your rib cage and above your belly button, and ask yourself this question, “What do I want? What do I really, really want?” Sit for a few moments and allow the answers to flow.
Slowly open your eyes and make a list of these desires. When we write down what it is that we truly want, we breathe life into our intentions.
When we are clear on what it is that we want, life begins to pulse in that direction.
Step Two: Release it and move on
Now release those goals and allow your life to unfold without expectation. Most of us have figured out by now that life does not always go exactly the way we plan. Although we may become clear on what it is that we truly want in life, knowing what we want is different than dictating how it is received.
We can chart our path but along the way the wind will blow, and our course will change; learn to let go and flow in that current.
Step Three:
Practice present moment awareness. Don’t focus on yesterday. Don’t focus on tomorrow.
This moment is our only truth. Be here. Now.
