The Law of Pure Potentiality guides us towards the understanding that we are so much more than we appear to be. As we walk through life, we tend to identify who we are with external references. We identify ourselves by the roles we play, the titles we assume and the tasks we accomplish. Our physical structure, and the thoughts in our mind somehow become our daily biography.
Are we simply skin and bones and organs and brain tissue? Can that truly be all we represent? Or could it be that at the core of our existence, what truly represents “who we are’ is pure awareness or pure consciousness. When we begin to explore the piece of us that exists in its own space, away from the cacophony of life, we begin to see our selves more clearly.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Allowing ourselves to dream is part of our nature. Unfortunately, we convince ourselves that our dreams are unreachable, and we let them go. What holds us back, all to often, are the stories we tell ourselves. Stories from our past and the restrictions that we create based on our perceived limitations. Sadly, this process is compounded as we allow others to place labels and opinions on our definition.
When we discover our essential nature, we come closer to knowing who we really are, and in that knowing, we create the ability to fulfill our dreams.
Exploring the Law of Pure Potentiality
Release the need to speak, to interject, to insert yourself into the flow of the world around you. Shut off the television, put down the newspaper, turn off you phone and just slip through your day as smoothly as you slip into a dream.
In our turbulent existence, we very rarely, if ever, experience silence in our lives. It is a missing part of our world that no one actually realizes we are missing. This lack of silence in our day-to-day creates turbulence in our internal dialogue. By stepping into this exercise, you will witness this silence become profound. You begin to hear your true voice, spoken from your heart and soul, unclouded by a world of interference.
When we meditate, it is not a practice of silencing the mind, it is the practice of disconnecting yourself from the conversation. With proper guidance, this dance of consciousness becomes smooth and acceptance of the practice becomes uncomplicated. It is in our nature to seek the stillness of our mind and when we experience the pure awareness that stillness delivers, it feels as though we have returned home.
Take the Time to Commune with Nature
Sitting with nature for a few minutes brings us a bit closer to truly appreciating the world we live in and all of the beauty that surrounds us. It isn’t always easy in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to find the time to be outside and and connect with our true home. We are a part of nature, not a visitor. As you practice this “law”, find the time to sit in nature and feel the connection. Be still; appreciate the scent of dawn, the beauty of a sunset or the light of a full moon. Silently witness the beautiful flow of life.
As we walk through our day in judgment, we constantly find ourselves evaluating all of our experiences as right or wrong, good or bad; classifying and labeling everything that crosses into our life. This continuous approach creates turbulence in our world and more importantly in our internal dialogue. It creates constriction in the flow of energy and the flow of infinite creativity in our world. The practice of non-judgment will alleviate the entanglement of your endless categorizing and release this constriction. Judgment is usually based on the stories we tell ourselves; the glass ceilings that we create. When we release the stories that keep replaying in our mind, our life begins anew from a place of beauty and acceptance.
There is a prayer in the “Course of Miracles” that states: “Today I shall judge nothing that occurs.”
“You need not leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. You need not even listen, simply wait. You need not even wait; just learn to be quiet, and still, and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked. It has no choice; it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” ~Franz Kafka
Through silence, meditation, connecting with nature and non-judgment you will access the Law of Pure Potentiality. The concept of pure potential can only be realized if you offer it this space. It is in this space that you will visit your true nature and in response, receive unfiltered, creative thought.
